"Research Use Only" appears on product pages, on labels and in our terms. It is routinely read as boilerplate. It is not: it is a condition of sale, and it changes what the transaction is.
What it says about the material
A material supplied on this basis is:
- not a medicine, and holds no marketing authorisation from any medicines regulator
- not assessed for safety in humans or animals by us or by anyone whose assessment we can point to
- not manufactured to the standards that apply to medicinal products
- not intended for consumption, ingestion, injection or application to a person or an animal
Every one of those is a statement about what has not been established. That is the honest shape of it. Absence of evidence of harm is not evidence of safety, and a material that has never been assessed for human use is not thereby safe for human use — it is unassessed.
What it asks of you
By ordering, you confirm that you are qualified to handle the material, that your intended use is lawful where you are, and that you accept the risk arising from handling, storage, use and disposal. Sections 5 and 9 of the Terms and Conditions set this out.
The condition travels with the material. It is not discharged by the sale completing.
Why it is printed on the container
The same words appear on the label as on the page, and that is deliberate. A container outlives its packaging, its paperwork and the browser tab it was ordered from. Whoever holds it in six months may never have seen the listing.
We hold ourselves to a related rule internally: a product page must never read softer than the label on the thing in the customer's hand. If a page and a vial disagree, the page is wrong.
What we will not do
DC LABX does not supply dosing, reconstitution, administration, cycling or protocol guidance for any product, and will not do so on request. Our support team is not permitted to give it. Requests of that kind are declined.
We also publish no treatment or cure claims, no guaranteed outcomes, no comparison to prescription medicines, and no test result, registration number or certification for which we do not hold an approved document.
Some of that costs us sales. It is the trade the store is built on.
Why we are strict about it
A supplier who states a condition and then quietly helps customers around it has not stated a condition; they have written a disclaimer. The distinction matters to regulators, and it matters to any customer trying to judge whether a supplier means what it publishes.
